What we get up to after hours..........

It's 6.10pm and I am still at the shop, in the background is the noise of drilling and hammering.

Sue has been at it again.......
There is fabric pretty much everywhere in the second room as we are trying to create more space for the flannels and children's fabrics. We emptied the stacks of flannel's out and it was the contest how high can we stack them without them falling over, so far they are still there.

Yes that is Sue's Hand from behind the mountain of fabric!

"Blessings" By Brannock and Patek For Moda

A new range of Moda fabrics have just arrived. This range is called Blessings and is by Brannock and Patek. The range has rich deep colors mingle with fresh, muted tones in florals, paisleys and prints.

We have just finished a kit using this fabric, which is now hanging up in the shop. The quilt measures approximately 65" x 83".

Marti Michell in Sydney

Marti Michell was in Sydney the past two days providing shop owners with a demonstration on how all her products work. I was lucky to be able to attend (leaving Sue and Jan behind in the shop!). It is amazing how all the rulers and templates can be used to create some of the most interesting quilts, yet these quilts are so easy to make. The templates also make life so much easier, especially when cutting triangles and cutting off those little bit that create those "ears". Here are some photos from the two days. When I got home on Saturday I just had to go to work and start using one of the rulers on a new project, I'll post some photos soon. xx Tamsin

Block of the Month: Lucia

Lucia is a Block of the Month that was designed for Berrima Patchwork by Jennie Osborne. We started this BOM in February and the ladies are all progressing well. Due to demand we started another "intake" for Lucia in August, if you are interested you can still sign up. To cut a block of a month is a major undertaking, this past month I thought I would take a photo for you how we assemble it. All the tables in that class room are full and we slowly work our way around putting each piece on every pile.

New Addition

We have a new addition to the Berrima Patchwork Family. This is a new grandchild for Sue and niece for me (Tamsin).

Her name is Zara Louise and she was born 2 days ago.

We will have her quilting in no time!
