Aussie Hero Quilts

Today I had a meeting with Jan-Maree from Aussie Hero Quilts. Berrima Patchwork is going to be teaming up with Aussie Hero Quilts which is very exciting.
We have some great things planned for the next few months and will be telling you more about this next week in our newsletter and how you can get involved supporting this great organisation.
If you haven't heard about Aussie Hero Quilts you can check out their facebook page Aussie Hero Quilts (and Laundry Bags) and their blog at http://aussieheroquilts.blogspot.com.au/
So what is Aussie Hero Quilts? Aussie Hero Quilts (and Laundry Bags) is designed to encourage sewers to make quilts and laundry bags for our Aussie Servicemen and Women currently serving Overseas. We care about the person, not the politics or the mission.
The photo below is from their Blog and is of some of those who received quilts on HMAS Darwin the photo is taken on the Flight Deck whilst the ship was in Muscat, Oman

QITH 2014 Retreat Photos: Part 1

This year's Quilting in the Highlands Retreat was yet another huge success. We had a amazing team of tutors including from the USA Marti Michell and Sandra Leichner and from Australia: Ruth Bloomfield, Julie Haddrick, Yvette Stanton and Mariya Waters.
Lots of photos were taken over the four days of workshops and we will be posting photos over the next few days from the different workshops.
Below are photos from Ruth Bloomfield's workshop: Who Gives a Hoot

Below are some of the amazing quilts by Ruth Bloomfield that she had brought with her.
