New Batiks Fabrics in Store

Lots of new Batik fabrics have arrived in store.

The intricate designs and lush colors of Hoffman's Handpaints and Batiks are so detailed, it's difficult to imagine that every yard is produced by hand and yet that's just what happens at the Hoffman facilities in Bali.

These fabrics are either batiked or painted with dye or undergo a combination of methods.

We have a large selection of Bali Batik Fabrics on our website.

To view the full collection of Bali fabrics CLICK HERE

Geisha in the Moonlight

We currently have Leesa Chandlers quilt "Geisha in the Moonlight" in the store. This is a workshop that Leesa will be teaching for us during our retreat: Quilting in the Highlands 28th July till 31st July.

Geshia in the Moonlight

This is a stunning quilt that Leesa has designed featuring needleturn applique and several other hand sewing methods.

On the first day we work on the border blocks first to learn needleturn, 3D work, paper piecing, bias making, stem stump work and cherry blossoms. On the second day we review what was covered on day one and then work on the Geisha. All techniques are demonstrated, keeping in mind that the Geisha is all needleturn and 3D/bagged out work, so much simpler than Day 1! General techniques are also covered such as transferring patterns onto background, quilt as you go techniques to assemble the quilt and all that cool stuff you don't get in the pattern.

Quilting in the Highlands is a fantastic quilting retreat that we will be holding Saturday 28th July till Tuesday 31st July. There are 10 different classes that you can book into. Our teachers for this retreat including Carol Doak, Melinda Bula, Sue Dennis and Michele Hill. You can book for just 1 of the 2 day classes or stay for all 4 days. French General  French General  French General

French General writes about this collection "After spending many summers in France looking for the perfect French red, I finally found a collection of old prints that represented what rural life looked like in the 18th and 19th centuries. Based on our first collection, Rouenneries, this group of lovely prints is inspired by the red florals that were printed in Rouen, France in the 18th century. Old French red, faded cranberry and natural linen colors all make up a collection that is a perfect combination to create a French-inspired quilt."
