Long Weekend Hours and Free Pattern

This weekend in NSW is the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend. Our hours of operation are:

Saturday Open 10am till 4pm

Sunday Open 10am till 4pm

Monday Open 10am till 3pm

Free Pattern from Riley Blake Designs

I was checking out the Riley Blake Designs website today and came across this super cute pattern for this pincushion.

If you have never tried cathedral windows then this is a great project to try this method out. It uses 10" Squares which is good if you have any layer cake pieces leftover from another project.

Free Pattern 12" Block: Prairie Queen

This week's free 12" Block pattern is available for downloading from Berrima Patchwork.It is called Prairie Queen and is simple to sew together. Only using 3 fabrics, it a great pattern to use up some of those leftover pieces of fabric you have.

Free Pattern 12" Block: Wyoming Valley

This week's free 12" Block pattern is available for downloading from Berrima Patchwork. It is called Wyoming Valley. There is a bit of sewing in this block and you need to take care when you are sewing your rows together otherwise you could end up with a lot of bulk around your seams. This bulk can sometimes cause your finished block not to sit flat. We have made up the same using 3 different fabrics but once again this block would look good in a selection of fabrics.

This week's free pattern from Berrima Patchwork is called Our Editor. We have made it up in a variety of fabrics to give it a scrappy look however you could simply use 2 different fabrics for a totally different effect.

Anthology Fabrics - Free Quilt Pattern

One of the quilts that were on display at the Houston Quilt Market that really caught my eye was by Anthology Fabrics. 

I have just been onto their website and have found that it is a free pattern, looks like there is a lot involved in the pattern but what an amazing quilt you would have at the end of it. The free pattern can be seen at  http://www.anthologyfabrics.com/anthology_pdf/Florigia%20Pattern.pdf
