Crazy Patchwork Stool Class

Yesterday we held our Crazy Patchwork Stool Class. This is a fantastic workshop in which the students learn about crazy patchwork and then working on a small sample turn it into a patchwork stool!

I love this class as most of the students either have a completed project finished by the end of the class, or only have a small amount of work to do to complete it. PLUS it's a class that they not only learn the technique but have a finished product at the end of the day which can be used.
The selection of fabrics that have been used in this class are great, I always love to see what everyone brings to the class, and it is so hard sometimes to stop myself from thinking hmmmmm maybe I should use that fabric combination and make up another stool.

Louise and Sue busy at work

Below are pictures from some of the finished stools
Vicki's finished stool top, don't you LOVE the Dr Seuss Fabric

Louise is going to finish off her stool by free motion quilting with a metallic thread. The fabric she used is Under The Australia Sun by Leesa Chandler

Sue used the fabrics that have been designed by Michele Hill from her Adelaide Collection and Morris Meadows for her stool top. She had previously used some of these fabrics for one of her quilts and had left overs. Sue has also sewn on several different trims and will embellish it more when she gets home.

This is Anne's finished Stool, the oriental fabrics looks great and she embellished the top of the stool with metallic threads. It's always great in these classes when the students try out new threads or products,

This is Melanie's Stool cover, she is still working on it. The flowers have been appliqued onto the top of the fabric. Melanie has never tried applique before so this was a fantastic opportunity to try it out. This stool is going to look great when it is all finished.
