Iznik Garden - World Quilt Competition

We got some good news - Iznik Garden is a finalist in the World Quilt Competition. It is off to the USA for it's 4th trip if only we got frequent flyer points for it! The quilt will be on display at several quilt shows over the next few months in the USA until the end of January so keep an eye out for it. Constantinople Quilts Special Event

Constantinople Quilts is the first book that Tamsin has written for C&T Publishing. It has had a delayed release date due to strike action on the West Coast Ports (in the USA). The books have now arrived at C&T in the US and were shipped out to us on Friday. The books we anticipate will arrive within the next 2 weeks. As soon as they arrive those of you who have pre-ordered the book will have them shipped to you.

The Book: Constantinople Quilts includes 8 different projects which are raw edge appliqued. Throughout the book there are photos of the tiles and ceramics that inspired these designs. In March last year Tamsin travelled to Istanbul to photograph the tiles and all the projects in the amazing historic setting of the "Old City".

CONSTANTINOPLE QUILTS SPECIAL EVENT:

Due to the delay of the release of Constantinople Quilts we are DELAYING the quilt display that we had scheduled for Sunday 3rd May.

The NEW DATE will be SATURDAY 6th JUNE from 10am till 3pm.

On this day we will be displaying all the projects from the book Constantinople Quilts. Tamsin will be on hand to sign books and to talk about the process of creating the projects, their inspiration and her trip to Turkey to photograph the projects and tiles. No need to book for this special event.

Constantinople Quilts

Earlier this year we announced that Tamsin had been signed up as a new author for the USA company C&T Publishing. We can now reveal the front cover of the book.

It is called Constantinople Quilts and will be released next April. The quilts are due to be returned back next week and if you come into the store over the next few months you might even get a sneak peek at some of the projects.

Location photography enhances 8 patterns that effortlessly go from ancient places to contemporary spaces.In March of this year Tamsin travelled to Istanbul, Turkey to photograph all the projects on location and was granted special access by the Turkish Government to photograph the Iznik Tiles in several historic locations. The photos of the projects were taken by an AMAZING photographer by the name of Kagan Aybudak. Below is the set up for the location photo of the quilt - Topkapi which is on the front cover of the book. This was at the Rüstem Pasha Cami in Istanbul.
