Age of Elegance is a range of designs inspired by the work of Alphonse
Mucha. Born in Bohemia in 1860 his most influential work was created in
Paris, where he lived for 20 years at the turn of the 19th century and
an inspiring place to be at the fin-de-siècle. Today Alphonse Mucha is
recognised for bridging the gap between high art and the commercial
world. He was extremely versatile and produced posters, silverware and
jewellery, as well as wallpapers and borders. Mucha’s designs
incorporating the decorative Art Nouveau woman have become synonymous
with this style, as he glamorized and feminized the female form. He
often used Eastern forms and symbols and used a very sophisticated
interpretation of colour and decoration based on natural forms, to
create his very unique decorative Art Nouveau style.
This range is available in two different colourways.
