Elvis Quilt

Jan brought in her finished Elvis quilt for us to check out today. It looks great, if we ask nicely she might even lend it to the shop for a while!

Wet Weather: Wingecarribee River

For those of you who have never been to Berrima, Berrima Patchwork backs onto the Wingecarribee River. Last week during the massive amount of rain the river did flood, the quarry walk was completely under water. The Quarry Walk takes you along part of the river and is a great place to spot platypus, native birds and other wildlife.

This is a video that we took of the river last Thursday. It would have had to rise about another 6 feet before we would have been worried about flooding of the shop. Enjoy

New Flower Fairy Panel

New Flower Fairy Panel from Michael Miller in Store now. It is called Red Holiday Flower Fairy and it has a matching all over fabric. These fabrics are from Cecily Mary Baker's Flower Fairies drawings. 

This panel measures approximately 60cm x 110cm.

New Quilt Kit in Store: Bees and Elephants

A fast and easy quilt to sew up. This is the latest of quilt panel kits that we have on offer. Called Bees and Elephants ABC it is ideal for both boys and girls.

The fabric are the same as those that are shown in the sample and is a panel kit.

The kit contain all the fabric for the top of the quilt, binding and pattern. Backing fabric and batting/wadding is available at additional cost.

Finished Size Approximately 1mt x 1.38mt (40” x 54 ½”)

New Batiks Fabrics in Store

Lots of new Batik fabrics have arrived in store.

The intricate designs and lush colors of Hoffman's Handpaints and Batiks are so detailed, it's difficult to imagine that every yard is produced by hand and yet that's just what happens at the Hoffman facilities in Bali.

These fabrics are either batiked or painted with dye or undergo a combination of methods.

New Quilt Kit and Pattern available in store. This quilt has been designed by Berrima Patchwork and is called Topaz

The kit contain all the fabric for the top of the quilt, binding and pattern. Backing fabric and batting/wadding is available at additional cost. The fabric are the same as those that are shown in the sample.

The pattern contains diagrams and guides you along the process of making this quilt in simple to understand steps. 

EXCITING THINGS HAPPENING......

So what are these exciting things that are occuring at Berrima Patchwork?????

WE HAVE A NEW WEBSITE.!!!!!

Yes it is finally up and running, it has been up since last week and going well. It has a totally new look and is very user friendly to use. I've been busy in the shop taking photos of the fabrics and loading them onto the site. New collections such as The Cat in the Hat and Celebrate Seuss are now online ready to be purchased.

We also have a new emailing/newsletter system which will be trying out shortly, a new blog connected to our site (we will still be posting on here), you are able to book into classes online and many other fun things. Our email system was down for a couple of days, sorry if you have tried to contact us, it is now up and running again.

We also have a new logo, the old one was a bit dated and we felt it needed a new look which goes with the website. This logo will start to appear on all our products, and on the large new signs for the front of the shop soon.

And lastly what else is exciting is that I am currently in Salt Lake City - after a very busy and stressful week of getting the website live I have left the shop on Monday afternoon (with a pile of products on file be loaded onto the site while I'm away - no rest for me) boarded the plane and arrived in the USA. I'm over here for The International Spring Market - a trade only quilt show.  I will be away for two weeks but will be checking and replying to emails if you have anything to ask us about or you can always phone Sue in the shop. While I am at Market I will have the opportunity to meet up with some of the team who put our new website together as well as meeting up with several of our regular contacts and suppliers. New products, fabric and books will be released at the show and I will make sure that I will be blogging about what I see.
