Walking down to the Salt Lake City Convention Centre from my hotel there is a display are art which is rather funky. I just had to share some of these photos with you. In the evening it looks great with some of the art works being lit up.
Later today I headed over to Temple Square. Salt Lake city is a Mormon city and Temple Square is where the Main Temple is and momuments to the founding members of the Mormon faith. The grounds around the temple are beautiful and all the flowers are out in bloom. The main temple has a sign outside telling you about the temple "....Begun in 1853, it was completed forty years later. Granite rock used in its construction was hauled twenty-three miles by ox-drawn wagons from Little Cottonwood Canyon. The walls are nine feet thick at the ground level and narrow to six feet thick at the top. The east center tower is 210 feet high and is topped by the statue of an angel...." Here are some photos from Temple Square.
And lastly I was looking outside my window of the hotel and the mountains were clearly in view so I had to take another photo (see the construction work going on there is a lot of this happening in the town). Outside my hotel there is a Tram station, take a good look at the top of the station, see those birds they are status!
